Govt agencies like the FDA were created to catch these things - and fix them. Their power over the last 40 years has been slowly eroded in favor of putting the right of a company to make money before the right of a parent to feed our children healthy food.

Not at all. There was a time when the FDA could walk into a grocery store and if they saw a known carcinogen in a food, demand that it be taken off the shelves.They’ve been reduced to only the authority to politely recommend the manufacturer consider no longer poisoning our kids.
