1/ Life isn’t just about what happens to you; it’s about who you choose to be in response to what happens. The same is true of a country.

2/ The US is like a car that has careened off the road, but whether it goes in the ditch and stays there - or gets put onto a course-corrected future - will be determined by who we choose to be and what we choose to do right now.

We have no choices politically. The US is an oligarchy.

The “we have no choices politically” option is definitely a decision to go into the ditch and stay there. “The choices are gnarly and complicated and we have to come up with some new ones” is a much more functional response to these times.

It turned off the road during FDR, fell into the river under LBJ, and drowned when we left the gold standard. Now you want to mutilate the corpse and call it progress.

saying nothing when thousands were prevented from having a livelihood for not taking big pharma’s mandated shot: that’s marianne williamson doing everything in her power to make sure we stay in the ditch.

The driver of the car is a predatory murdering sociopath that is making everyone in the back seat listen to the absolute shittiest music available on the dial. He's driving down sidewalks mowing down innocents, who's pocket-change he somehow manages to loot when they are dead 1/2

1/ I would say the US is the car being driven by a drunk old person who refuses to admit they have a problem or acknowledge they are now too old to drive, and wind up crashing n killing innocent people.
