I don't see any consistent evidence of a reluctance to be confrontational amongst modern women. I do see it as being consistently present in the millions of adults (male and female) who are survivors of childhood trauma.

That's true. From the beginning that's how they tried to tame us. Make us think if we won the race,it was only to make them look bad, if we disagreed, we were not a competent debater but a bothersome troublemaker. Our personal power does not have to be given. we're born with it.

“Convenience” is easier, not “compromise”. It’s the power of deep caring, true love, the compassion of the possible that helps one stand through the disagreeable times. And those states are pleasing, and what soothes foe’s unpleasant feelings = no violence + compromise; win-win.
