To me the most enlightened economies are hybrids of socialism and capitalism, as in certain Scandinavian countries.

Maybe - but capitalism is opposed to the workers at every turn - when the $ loses more ground as the reserve currency then look for more brutal exploitation than now

We already had a labor movement in the Progressive Era and The New Deal, and yet the ruling class still came out ahead. Nothing short of a worker-owned government will "save capitalism"
