There are 7 “centibillionaires” in the US worth $100 billion or more. Each of them can: Give every teacher in America an $8000 raise for 5 years, or wipe out all US medical debt, or provide shelter for every homeless person in America. A billionaire tax should be a no-brainer.

I Dunno Marianne each one of these billionaires provide essential services to the US and the world. They are billionaires because they carry the weight of the responsibility for these services, and the management that create these endeavors. You CAN teach a man to fish.

The counter argument is that billionaires are collecting wealth rather than returning investments back into the people that produced their wealth. Without these services the world would be a smaller place. The services they provide are more essential than the value they hold.
