Not holding people accountable for assault is not "taking the high road." The high road would be demonstrating to millions of kids who watched it on TV that they'd be held accountable for physical assault on a person, no matter the reason & no matter how rich & powerful they are.

Since Chris declined to press charges, accountability will/should be rendered by his peers, audiences and followers. I for one no longer regard him as a role model. Look to others like Marianne, @SadhguruJV, @EckhartTolle, and others. #ConsciousPlanet

Yes, people in the public spotlight should be held responsible for their actions, or they should get out of the spotlight.

He should have been escorted out of the building .. instead of left there to receive his 'award'. Whole thing is fkn disgusting, especially the support he received. ps: Jada is a fraud.

Right. But Unfortunately the US gave up on equal treatment under the law when it comes to the rich and famous, and this has gotten much worse during the new Gilded Age.

there is the idea that it might be staged.. if so I can see the message conveyed..especially when you tie the assault to the speech.. all that .. called by god to protect .. and protect being repeated over and over... games within games within games.

Smith sure shattered his good guy image in one slap. But it was all staged. Next year so many more will tune in to see who gets slapped this time. It’s become reality tv like the kardashians or something. Very sad.

If it had happened outside of a 7 eleven, Will would be in the back seat of a police car.
