If this country was serious about fighting crime we would get serious about fighting poverty. Treat the symptom all you want to, guys: it will only create more of them. axios.com/first-look-biden-t…

crime is actually down and was when the militarization of the police was going on .. the part you did not mention is that locking people up is a business.... and business is good. ..nothing to do with treating a symptom.. it is causing it for profit that needs to be discussed.

Imagine the impact of spending 32bn to provide living wages to employ the most disadvantaged, instead of spending it on subduing them by force.

7% of white children are born into poverty, 18% of Black children are born into poverty. Poverty breeds desperation; desperation breeds violence. #SlaveryNeverEnded

Did you support Tim Scott's efforts for Opportunity Zones or Criminal Justice reform. Both of these would have had a positive impact on poverty.

And if we were serious abt fighting crime, we would more seriously address the disease called drug addiction. There is a segment of crime, especially violent crime, that is fueled by the physical & mental consequences of addiction. We're hopelessly reactive.

You're speaking the truth while, unfortunately, our Prez is practicing politics. Thank you for your voice.

If the country were serious about fighting crime there would be consequences for the wealthy and powerful when they rob, extort, and murder hundreds or millions for money. There are literally no such consequences, only rewards.

The police are just coddled and enabled by Biden. It makes me sick and makes me hate cops even more

We need to look at crime as something that isn't focused on poor population. That's where we get the #WarOnThePoor - because when you look for crime you'll find it. We have an abundance of #VigilantePolice coming from suburbs to be enforcers in the urban centers.

giving $32b to poor people to pay for rent and food would do more to prevent crime
