The left is very divided on the issue of Ukraine, depending on whether you’re viewing it mainly through the filter of Iraq and Afghanistan or through the filter of World War II. Both are legitimate and either alone tells only half the story.

Toss it into the bottomless pit of things that divide the left. The silver lining is that the left is usually divided on the nuances of a subject and usually agree on the ideal outcome of a situation.

Half the story and wrong all of the way. Your term World War II itself shows utter ignorance of the Soviet sacrifice to whip the Nazis. Russia, singlehandedly and against all odds defeated the Nazis while the Yankees took credit. Now the Yankees enabled the remnant Nazis.

There is a tendency by many to oversimplify, pretend only one viewpoint has risks, moral hazards, and smacks of hypocrisy. The reality is, we are faced with a plethora of non-perfect decisions, all of which we could retrospectively claimed to be the “worst possible decision.”

I can recall a few issues where the far left was divided. This hasn't been one of them.
