America has lost its capacity to respond to an emergency. Materialism and consumerism have made us dense and sluggish and unable, or unwilling, to collectively respond to even dangers in our midst.

You can’t just say capitalism? Afraid of their right wing attacks from democrats and corporations if you do?

Great. Don't call for federal aid when a tornado blows your house down.

Maybe we're too busy working our asses off for decaying lifestyles and dismal futures to care about Russia, the climate, or your grandma catching covid. Don't blame the people when we're doing our best in the shitty system the boomers built us.

Americans don’t think, don’t question, don’t challenge. They simply follow. None trusts another, everyone acts out of fear. There is no social support and connection in the micro scale. Individualism was the force of this country but now it acts destructively like cancer.

It's capitalism and consolidation that are the systemic problem. This was a different country when most people owned their own small small shops and businesses (essentially market socialism) instead of working for wages at the global conglomerate.
