America has lost its capacity to respond to an emergency. Materialism and consumerism have made us dense and sluggish and unable, or unwilling, to collectively respond to even dangers in our midst.

You folks know what Marianne and other far leftists want to do with their “emergency” right? They want to have frequent climate shut downs of the whole economy (just the US, as China et all are not so stupid) “to save the earth”

And whose fault do you suppose that is Marianne?

It's capitalist greed. If the elites (oligarchs) can't make money on it, it won't happen.

True! Nothing feels urgent because people are happy with their flat screen TVs, iPhones and other toys.

It’s just all too much. Feeling more hopeless daily. But trying to gain strength from people like you.

Maybe you should avoid the east & west coasts and hand out with some country folks. You would be pleased.

A degradation of trust in leadership. People will follow leaders they trust. The fault lays at the feet of the government.

what dangers in our midst? dangers created by the deep state. we should be on russias side… we should have listened to trump “we should get along with russia”. Why do we support fascists who insurrected the democratically elected president?

I disagree. If it's an emergency to capital or a threat to its perceived dominance on the world stage, the US government is very quick to respond. Unfortunately an emergency for the people does not seem to initiate a response at all from government. Same as it ever was.
