Martin Luther King Jr. said “If they give it to the poor they call it a handout, but if they give it to the rich they call it a subsidy.” Why should we subsidize multi B$ Oil & Pharma companies but not kids just trying to get an education?

Well said. I love the analogy !!! You make so much sense in so may ways. I get it more than ever now and couldn't agree more.

It makes even the illusive aware that there is an issue with the Government not doing more for true social causes. I have a fatal but truth bearing heart feeling they do it on purpose because they need part of the population in debt and suffering to keep the financial debt going.

Thanks for the inspiring ear candy but King would have understood the national security consequences of foreign oil dependence, and since nearly all public school buildings are heated with oil, gas or steam, the “kids” benefit from plentiful cheap energy too.

New Age Feudalism (aka, Capitalism) requires a poor class, the system simply cannot function without it. The poor function to keep wages low (the owners benefit) and to remind those in the middle of where they could be if they fail to serve.

Exactly. He also said “It’s Socialism for the rich, and rugged individualism for the rest of us.”

Why can't people understand that giving the poor other people's money is the same as taking less of rich people's money?!

When the driving force is emotion…you, most everyone, especially lefties, only pay attention to logic and ethics…Thom Hartmann: Breaking The Code: Feelings come first. Marshall Rosenberg: NVC: Language of Life: Feelings come first…driving…associating…force is emotion..

They are subsidizing kids trying to get an education already.
