The Taliban promised to open all schools—including girls’ secondary schools—two days ago, on Monday, this week. How extraordinarily cruel, to a nation of girls, to reverse that today.
We absolutely 100% knew this would happen when we left. You can’t westernize or democratize these people, and that is what the west needs to understand. Cruel tribalism is all they know and all they ever will, sadly.
Did anyone ever believe they would let the young females in their country get an education? An educated population, especially the females, is one of the things the Taliban fears most.
