The real question is who does not and why

The only thing the United States government can do with urgency, efficiency and effectiveness at this point is build & sell weapons & push wealth upwards 😭👇

Wait… to get to the East Coast, or anywhere else from Seattle, I have to go to LA? What’s up with that???

No you don't. You want our tax money to fund wars.

No question it would be cool. But, would it be a giant subsidized money pit that doesn't fulfill it's promised outcomes?

This isn't happening until we stopped letting private interests dictate public policy!! And until we build coalitions understanding none of us are perfect but we do have common goals... 🤷‍♂️ Thou Party partisans & moral grandstanding are not going to build coalitions we need.

We love to build shiny new things, but we typically forget the maintenance costs. That’s why our bridges are falling down. The higher the train speed, the more the rails are damaged and the more frequently they need to be adjusted or repaired. Ask Japan.

Marianne, to beat climate change we need to give up our lust for high-speed anything. Building HSR *takes too long* & has very high construction emissions & energy demand. Best: improve, electrify, expand *the rail system we have* for faster & broader movement of people & freight

I’d be up for it but @GavinNewsom can’t even get the Bakersfield to Fresno to San Jose line done.

I would...but I would also like to see more of the Midwest serviced in a meaningful way. This design is 100% useless for anyone who doesn't live near a major metropolitan area and doesn't need to to travel to another major metropolitan area.
