With due respect, the problem everybody is upset about is not just your misunderstanding of Hitler. It’s your misrepresentation of the Jewish population in Germany. It’s a perpetuation of the idea that they were “other,” which is exactly what Hitler argued. Please recognize that.

They themselves say the exact thing; just amongst their population for their consumption McFaul wasn’t trying to make that point but was correct in the end. He’s just not allowed as a Gentile to say it. On a macro/micro level, they are a nation within a nation they cultivate.

In a time of rising antisemitism, I understand that making any comment indirectly implying that Jews are in any way “others” was the last thing I wanted. That of course was not my intention. I deeply regret my comments and I sincerely apologize. And now am moving forward.

The former Ambassador apologized and has done than most people in the last month to get aid people in understanding All Ukrainian People and dispelling Putin’s propaganda that they are Nazis. Get a grip on the bigger picture - what have you done to help Ukrainians except whine

Since genocidal Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that Ukrainians had no right to exist, that sounds QUITE EVOCATIVE of what Adolf Hitler said about Jews.
