Suggesting we do nothing to support a country that is being ruthlessly invaded doesn't make you "anti-war."

US started this war in 2014 when it backed a coup that overthrew the elected gov't, selected the new leaders, empowered fascists who burned people alive, & poured in $2.7 billion in weapons to shell the resisters. We should do something: stop treating Ukraine as cannon fodder.

So to you that means doing nothing now? You think that’s a moral high ground?

Presumption that US is "doing nothing" is false. US has poured in billions of dollars in weapons & blocked a peaceful solution since 2014-15. We should cease that immediately, take NATO expansion off the table, & support the Minsk accords signed in 2015. thenation.com/article/world/…

I know you said nothing about the killing of civilians in Donetsk an Fuhansk. So I guess you were for us "doing nothing" to prevent their deaths. Marianne, if you get all your news from CNN , it shows.

The Moral High Ground Since -US/NATO will NOT send troops to 🇺🇦 to fight 🇷🇺 -& will NOT risk nuclear war over 🇺🇦 There is NO possibility 🇺🇦 will defeat 🇷🇺 The only MORAL position is to encourage 🇺🇦's army to lay down their arms ASAP How can you not see that, Marianne? 🤦‍♂️

We lost "high ground" when we initiated the coup, financed Azov (Nazis) to attack, murder and cleanse the eastern regions of ethnic Russians. Pushed their puppet leader to request NATO status & continually violate the Minsk Agreement calling for withdrawal from those regions.

Russian nukes or ballistic missiles in Mexico okay? Thought so.

How does promoting more war end war? Think for once, if we engage more what stops Russian from continuing to escalate? We started this war so we have no right to end it

I agree with Aaron. Our moral task is to build an international peace movement, not send more weapons to “help” Ukraine and extend the war, which will certainly spill over into other nations. The millions of fleeing refugees will overwhelm Europe many more people will die.

Diplomacy is not "doing nothing." I thought you were supposed to support peace. Aaron has taken the time to try and educate you about the very counterproductive "something" the US has been doing 'til now. Maybe listen?

Stick to writing books and leave policy to the experts.

This argument is all academic now. Ukraine had the opportunity to be a neutral nation. US had the opportunity to prevent war. That train has long passed and no amount of weapons, sanctions or hand-wringing is going to change that.
