More than this, the continued addiction to fossil fuels is equally insane. We must move to energy independence.
For 50 yrs we bought the illusion that mutual assured destruction keeps everyone safe. That only works when leaders are sane enough to put preserving life before accumulating power. If any good comes from this, it will be awakening to the sheer insanity of nukes existing at all.

Transitioning from a dirty economy to a clean economy needs to go hand in hand with transitioning from a war economy to a peace economy. Our survival depends on the willingness to embrace that level of fundamental change.
