It absolutely does have relevance. Willingness to contribute to the society has everything to do with social cohesion - which the US lacks.

So they are smaller and less corrupt. Our issue is our government can’t spend wisely.

It does. They are a very homogeneous society. The US is a melting pot. The differing groups here value different things. The same solutions won’t work here. But, something does need to change.
