The Union comparison OMG

The real reason the comparison is unfair is because Norway has a major commodity export that's heavily tax to subsidize the welfare state. We could do something similar across industries, but we'd need to have some very aggressive trade practices with China to get a leg up.

We need more than 2 political parties in the U.S. The problem is, both parties are rigging the system so there will ever be only 2 parties. We should have at least 10 political parties. We’ve been so broken down to only believe we need to fall into one or the other.

As someone who lives here in the Nordics, we don't have Democratic Socialism in any of our countries. What we do have is strong Social Democracy, with a capitalist system that has very strong safety nets and a well-developed welfare system.

No. They enjoy their comfy lifestyle off the back of the global south just like US. Treating your citizens better while treating the rest of the world like shit isn't something to aspire to. telesurenglish.net/analysis/…

Norway has a petroleum fund from North Sea drilling worth US$1.35 Trillion. All profits from the state oil company are dropped into the fund. The US could have the same thing if it sold oil drilling rights on Federal Lands and off the California Coast. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Govern…

Nationalize the oil industry and ditch the MIC and we can have that, too.

Norway is not a democratic socialist country. They are a social democracy, which despite the sounding similarity is a world apart.
