I hope people are also unreservedly furious at how the Taliban are persecuting the citizens of that country. The blame first and foremost rests squarely with them. No one is forcing them to do these terrible things. They could easily choose to do the right thing.

They didn't need help escaping, they needed to listen when they were told for several months to evacuate. It's a tragedy but this was a risk that they chose to take, it's not the fault of the military for evacuating.
