Why is it police culture remains so unchanged? Who/what so infiltrated their ranks that white supremacy is now endemic to its culture? Why isn't government responding to deaths like that of #AmirLocke? It's unacceptable how we're always just waiting for the next time it happens.

At least a thousand protesters currently at Minneapolis Police 1st precinct. Organizers demanding charges against officers involved in killing of Amir Locke and resignation of Mayor Jacob Frey.

Nonsense like this is why policing will never change. Black assailants kill police at much higher rates than the percentage of black people killed by police. It's not 1960, the problem isn't racism, it's authoritarianism.

Easy, you say 'now endemic' as if it hasn't ALWAYS been part of the culture. That's where everyone gets it wrong, we consider the acts of police officers as somehow a new development. What do you think happened before body cams and video cams on every phone?

Due to the militarization of police, "police culture" has actually become a war culture, complete with a war mindset. You can't properly police a community with the mindset that you're at war with a subset of that community.

That is part of the anti-black history (disguised as anti-CRT) sweeping this country. The concept of police began as slave patrols, they are just staying true to their heritage and not even Dems are willing to address that fact.
