It seems so clear to me that a nation thrives when the majority of its people thrive. It's the essence of a democratic as opposed to an aristocratic worldview.

Power exerts itself by creating the condition of "no room at the inn."

Neighboring countries thriving also helps us.

1 of2 'When I was a child, shortly after urban working men had acquired the vote, certain public holidays were established by law, to the great indignation of the upper classes. I remember hearing an old Duchess say: 'What do the poor want with holidays? They ought to work.'

2 of 2 That was from Bertrand Russell. The old Duchess' attitude is rampant in out ruling class today.

Please Marianne, I'm begging you, run for president.

I'm going to call a truce with you because recently you've been putting out a lot of stuff I DO agree with. I don't know why you couldn't say these things WHEN IT COUNTED. Why did you try and play politics when you ran? People follow leaders. "leaders' don't follow polls.

And to be clear LEADERS can MOVE polls. When polls move leaders we get chaos and corporate rule.

Marianne, who in the heck thinks that our leaders want our nation to thrive? They want to make a shit-ton of $$, retain power & then make more $$. If regular ppl "thrived", then the upper class wld have less of a demonic hold over their very existence. And that simply won't do.

I used to agree. Now I understand that some people thrive when given extra opportunities to advance themselves, and some people chose not to. You can’t ensure majority thriving by distributing wealth from the ones who try and succeed to a portion who don’t try at all.
