The purpose of a government is to serve its people - not thwart, punish, and disregard the needs of all but a few of them.

I’m afraid without some major reform and restructuring that will never be the US government. Too many career politicians more interested in padding their wallet then helping out the little people.

If the people have no means to really hold their government accountable in real-time, it's a moot point. People can lie for two months then get elected for years and be untouchable unless they publicly commit a violent felony, it seems.
