Indeed. A true Government of the People, by the People and for the People is chosen to serve them rather than ride them.

As per gov.bc.ca Public servants work for government & for citizens. They're responsible to the elected government, not a political party. They develop & deliver public programs or services, inform policy-making, & provide evidence-based advice to leaders.

Those days are long past... or maybe they never were.
