Everyone on the far left always say that and it is just a talking point. We are far to the left of where we were on voting rights, womans rights, minority rights, healthcare... , What we don't have anymore are racist populists trying to help only whites, and we are better for it.

People are not more right though. It is just a perception propped up by those who want to think the country is. The two parties are mainly financed by those interests. Of course if money and power do make the country (and the people don’t matter) then it is more right wing.

Moderate Republicans were actually more liberal. Nixon supported labor. Business bought both over 40 years starting with Republicans. Flash forward to now over 200000 in dark money donations to @justicedems
