America has a permanent underclass which is dealt with simply by leaving it out of the conversation, normalizing people’s despair and pretending they don’t exist. Since the pandemic began, millions more have fallen into poverty and billionaires have only increased their wealth.
Here’s the deal: America is the only leading economy in the world where the economy as a whole is stronger than before the pandemic. Our economic plans are working.

Agreed!! Divorced, 4 kids, blue collar job, rent in Bay Area, small business closed down, kids at home, caught Covid after fully vaccinated, layoff coming from lack of construction work in SF, benefits lapsing due to lack of hours, blah blah blah!! Feels like no one cares.
