Learned helplessness is still the thing here. A large swath of voters have chosen not to vote **at all** - because for 40 years Democrats haven't passed meaningful legislation that will materially help them. What to do, though? General Strike? 3rd party? We must change them.

C'mon. Yes we are. Obama already passed the STOCK ACT of 2012. Then they de-fanged it the following year. Now we're talking about new legislation for something that has already been codified into a law with no consequences like it's some form of constitutional emergency.
