Oh no you don't. Dr. King was in Memphis that day to SUPPORT UNION WORKERS, not to do charity work. No amount of private charity can compensate for a basic lack of social justice.
We're all better when we come together. 馃挌 Inspired by Dr. MLK Jr.'s legacy, join us this Monday and beyond in strengthening our communities through volunteer experiences focused on supporting youth in collaboration with @CityYear, @JA_USA, @MENTORnational.

supporting union workers was one issue that Dr. King cared about, not the only thing he cared about. hard to imagine that he would be opposed to people performing works of charity in their community. they're not mutually exclusive.

MLK was in Memphis to support BLACK sanitation workers who were prevented from unionizing due to RACISM. Your white supremacist revisionist history of MLK is offensive and shameful.

Translucent folks would do better with closing their mouths about MLK Day. MLK was definitely about service and here is his daughter speaking on it. The national day of service on MLK weekend has been widespread in the Black community.
