I stand in solidarity with the 8,400 striking workers at Kroger in Colorado. If Kroger can afford to pay its CEO over $20 million and spend $1 billion on stock buybacks, you know what? It can afford to pay its workers better wages and benefits with safe working conditions.

Legalizing stock buybacks (rule 10b-18) turns 40 this year. No congress involved, untouched since, despite the backwards incentives and market manipulation it has created. Thanks republicans. A top 10 worst idea from them. Nothing will beat alcohol prohibition, the 🐐 of stupid

Me too! I worked for a Kroger chain in Oregon for almost 7 years. They were horrible to their employees. I was on our unity bargaining team and the things I heard from the Kroger representative made me quit shortly after our contract was ratified because of those things

Absolutely! I needed groceries tonight and live 3 minutes away from a Kroger, everything else is quite a bit further. I’m glad I knew about the strike, because I will not be crossing the picket line.
