The majority of Americans want universal healthcare; the majority want free college; the majority want a higher minimum wage; the majority want to cancel the college loan debt. So yeah, let’s definitely not run on that because it would turn people off.

I think you could get much more support on college tuition if you framed the issue not as "free tuition" but as providing PUBLIC financing for PUBLIC universities, like we used to do up until the end of the 1970s, when college tuition was only a few hundred dollars per year.
Can you post where you got your "majority of Americans" claim from?
