Let's not romanticize Jan 6 as a single event; it's a pattern. Every time resources of hope & opportunity are transferred from the many to the few, our democracy is attacked. The main point of attack is the systemic corruption that goes on in the Capitol building every single day

Are we here to pretend the Capitol rioters were just the poor masses finally fed up with being crushed under capitalism? Instead of what they actually were, a bunch of well off, rich white people mad they didn’t get their way?

Lobbyists swarm Capitol Hill and threaten members of Congress every day and that is considered business as usual.

Insurrectionists are Arendt's p'tit-boos driven mad. Brass ring always out of reach causes ressentiment (not a typo look up). Econ's performance plateau > cults of unreason. Trump is in tradition of vicar of an arbitrary despotic god.

I appreciate your opinion since it's quite neutral and rational. Regardless of viewpoints from the left wing or the right, the debate over #January6 don't lead to a good result. Back to people's lives, or a politics of love as you said is the only way to meet our urgent needs.

You sound like you want to lead the next insurrection. This is gross and so are your beliefs

Centuries-long efforts to suppress votes, centuries-long efforts to bribe politicians, one specific day where right wing lunatics sacked the Capitol trying to hang the VP at the behest of a reality TV president - how could we even begin draw a distinction between these things
