1/ I’ve spoken and written extensively on the establishment of a United States Department of Peace. The idea of creating such an agency is given short shrift in legislative circles, however, and for obvious reasons.

2/ Defense industry donations don’t rush in to the coffers of politicians funding peace; they rush in to the coffers of politicians funding war. War profiteering, supposedly a crime, has become an industry. An industry worth trillions of dollars.

3/ An industry that is one of the pillars of the American economy. An industry that exerts so much power in America that our government is little more than its handmaiden, with politicians from both parties among its major stockholders.mariannewilliamson.substack.…

This was one of your pillars in the 2020 Campaign ... Building Peace takes a lot time, energy, patience and support ... It should have it's own Department ... and its own Academy!

If you mean a Department of Peace in addition to current Defense and Homeland Security, then I foresee some triplication of responsibility, leading to inaction. If you mean renaming Defense, then I politely note how ineffectual the name change was from the Department of War.

I think this is really interesting, but I’d be worried that it almost immediately creates a propaganda win for opponents of the department - the 1984 reference.

The Pentagon is our 1984ish “Ministry of Peace”. That won’t change while the oligarchy and duopoly are in place. Topple them, move left and we can talk about actual peace.

Yah, this one incident has created this hyperbolic reaction in you and you think it credible enough to post about? You tell more about yourself by far than anything about anyone else.
