I’m happy for the military to be plump and healthy - better prepared & not used than be caught off guard. But I do ask myself why billionaires & big corps barely pay taxes. Those funds could make up for military spending, pay off student debt, provide free college, end hunger…

Assange’s comment on Afghanistan pretty well sums it up. "The goal is to use Afghanistan to wash money out of the tax bases of the US and Europe through Afghanistan and back into the hands of a transnational security elite. The goal is an endless war, not a successful war."

Whatever the recipient requests. The Defense Contractors control this entire process. There is no negotiation. Congress works for them, the Gun lobby, Pro Life, Federalist Society all fund the politicians with strings attached.

To line donors" pockets. We attack other countries to make sure we need replenishment & new stuff. That's it. No one is attacking us militarily. That last happened in World War 2. The US troops haven't been used to "defend our freedom" in over 75 years. We're the attackers.

This huge pentagon budget approaching 60% off every tax dollar, decades after MLK explained the three evils, inextricably linked, including militarism 💔 Of course they killed JFK, Bobby, MLK, Malcolm X and Fred Hampton 🔥

Every nickel spent on war is wasted in the most egregious manner. #OffenseDepartment #WarIsARacket #DefundTheWarMachine

To buy weapons from the contractors who lobby Congress for increased military spending. To pay the contractors who keep our bases operational. A lot of the money is never accounted for. Pork - buying overpriced unneeded equipment to favor various congressional districts.

To enrich the Military Industrial Complex.. which is the largest sponsors of the US govt ! Now you know who own the US govt and why they always want to invade some countries to start a war, or even initiate regime in some countries (to get new ally to buy US arms) !!
