Probably so they arrive at a point where they can quell the inevitable world-wide revolution from the 99% before it starts.

It's money laundering- it goes straight to rich people via stocks. Total racket.

Definitely not for helping service members or veterans

Yes, especially considering the US is impossible to invade. And the answer is the military doesn't need that money. Because the US can't be invaded.

Enslave rest of the world, in addition to feeding the nice folks from the weapon industry (who knows, today's business partners might be tomorrow's work colleagues).

Not if you live anywhere near military aviation has a base. You hear burning of fossil fuels all the time. (Yes, my dad was a Naval aviator, but that was before military aircraft had jet engines.)

We could solve this problem if our tax returns let us specify what %age of our taxes go to which org. “I want n% of my taxes to go to the military, m% to education, x% to healthcare etc.” Then we’ll really see how important the military is to the voters and tax payers.

#OnMakingPeaceWithNatureAndHumanity yes, I ask myself why why why we see such abnormalities as normal, why we want to “return” to normal when it’s that normality that’s behind the pandemics & the destruction of life in the planet @antonioguterres @MaimunahSharif @GlobalActionPW

Let's see: to satisfy the greed of the "defense" contractors. They and the financial industry have captured the government. The financial industry owns stocks in these "defense" companies. Wars are very profitable for them.

Not such a vast sum. With 800 bases around the world, that's less than $1bn per base! Invasions aren't cheap!
