The idea of karma or any kind of divine retribution has been a useful tool to help keep large populations submissive. It unloads a potential debt of violence onto a ghostly scapegoat and helps uphold the powerful’s monopoly on violence.

Some of them laugh because of the bitter irony. They know karma doesn't exist; and yet a belief in karma keeps millions of people passive, postponing their demands for justice despite gross exploitation and precarity. Karma ends up helping the evil doers. Hence ironic *laugh*😤

Upon death, I suppose the quest for re-entry into a more desirable lifetime ultimately is beyond our control. We may however quite possibly exert some influence in this destination based upon our behavior in this present lifetime.

Heartbreaking

With 3/4 of a trillion dollar defense budget, it's guaranteed that those bombs are going to be dropped somewhere. The people in Congress know this, and that's why anyone who voted for that budget is a monster.
