How much would a person with options have to be paid to clean ambulances, work in a mine or process garbage? I'm in favour of paying those guys more than those who "work" in air-conditioned luxury … but is anyone else willing?

Start with a UBI that is tied to inflation. All the things you listed are great and should happen, but they directly only help a specific group of people. UBI would help everyone and give people like me a reason to be proud of my country again.
