My brother-in-law assumes every homeless person is either a drunk or a drug addict. This buttresses the Calvinistic/Libertarian myth that the poor some how deserve their fate & the meritocracy & wealthy earned theirs.

It is an affectation to serve a narrative. Both Joe's are playing their assigned roles
