To the people who want a ‘work requirement’ on the Child Tax Credit: children can’t work.

Self inflicted. Why should people who don't have children have to pay for those who do? Not really fair. I don't not have children by choice, btw. So it seems extra unfair to me.

There certainly is a distain for the poor ... If a single parent works full time ... their child doesn't get picked up or the attention he or she needs ... and the bulk of whatever the parent earns ... will go to childcare!

Yes it is. Yesterday my 1 year old didn't want to go to bed until 1 in the AM. She makes insane messes everyday, and you can't really reason with her so yes children are tough work. Raising children is tough work. But our society is conditioned to see work as serving capitalism.
