If defense contractors didn’t dominate our foreign policy; and Big Pharma and health insurance companies didn’t dominate our healthcare; and fossil fuel companies didn’t dominate our energy policies, wouldn’t we all be better off?

That is open to debate. I would say that at least in the case of fossil fuel companies, it is a pretty big job to keep the American people supplied with enough fuel to heat their homes and run their cars with, and they do a pretty decent job of it.

In order to have Big Pharma, Big Oil, and the Military-Industrial Complex, you first need Big Government. Shrink the state and those other threats go away.

When you use the word "dominate" wouldn't "dictate" be more accurate and by "better off" do you mean we'd be able to eat, breath & live without being poisoned for profit. Yeah it's less delicate but ain't it time for Pollyanna to take a hike.
