If defense contractors didn’t dominate our foreign policy; and Big Pharma and health insurance companies didn’t dominate our healthcare; and fossil fuel companies didn’t dominate our energy policies, wouldn’t we all be better off?

That is why the answer is to make it impossible to own certain types of "property". The "ownership" in capitalism creates these conditions as people who attempt to reject capitalist's ownership claim will be met with violence carried out by the state of and for the bourgeoisie.
