2/ It already has, and will continue to if left uncorrected, begun to shrink the political base of progressivism. It is a serious surrender of moral authority, and a surrender of moral authority almost inevitably leads to a loss of political authority.

As I recall when you ran for Congress we all needed to explain why abortion needed to remain legal. You learned to your credit, but as I recall you won't on board always, unless that was in general and not your personal views. Either way carry on, you r a credit 2 the movement.

Ur correct. It’s not the role of govt to legislate morality. It is the govt’s role to protect individual rights, especially the right to life. Your decisions should be between you and your God. Although, your faith doesn’t give you permission to violate the rights of another.

Religion as manifested has almost zero relationship to spirituality. Morality is no more likely to be found among the religious, in fact, I think less so, because which religion isn’t a salvation system for men with women as lesser beings without authority over their own lives?

I've been saying for years we should approach this issue better - universal sex Ed, access to birth control and family planning are all proven to reduce abortions, as is access to affordable health and childcare. Reduction by kindness and social improvement rather than by force

Not to mention that the making abortion illegal doesn't reduce the amount that happen! Even if you think abortion is immoral all having the law is doing is punishing vulnerable citizens to absolutely no positive effect
