All I will say is that there are reasons why such a move could backfire. And they are worth considering. And I'm confident that the leaders of the have considered them carefully. And no, I don't think I'm naive about their motives.

There is no mandate from The American People to ram crap bills down the throats of 50% of the country. It’s 50-50 in The Senate, there’s no overwhelming majority. Keep in mind, what goes around comes around.

Do you think it would have been that in 2016 when Republicans had control and could have ended it too? The dems used it over 200 times in those 2 years. Should the Republicans killed the filibuster then too? You can't be this stupid can you?

Ending the filibuster will hurt the democrats in the long run when the GOP is in charge after the midterms.

There really is no other way to think of it.

This is like being mad at “the Democrats” for blocking civil rights legislation in the 1960s because white southern racists kept running as Democrats until the 1970s. (Actually, this is even dumber because there were some decent Republicans back then.)

But the Democrats have been saying fuck you to the American people for decades now.
