A pernicious delusion at the center of a trickle down economic ethos is the idea that the rich are hard-working but the poor are lazy. If anything, too often it’s the other way around.

Rich people are only rich because they took that wealth from the workers who actually created that wealth. Like Abraham Lincoln said, Labor is prior and superior to capital, and should be compensated more than capital.

Marianne, sometimes you just continue the noise without adding anything of relevance. So the guy who founded and owns the small business down the street is lazy? Or he isn’t rich enough? The labels don’t move the conversation forward.

I think this is the ... SOURCE ... of the problem ... Lots of people who grew up in wealthy homes with good school systems and tutors when they needed them ... think that because someone else is poor ... they're lazy!

From what I've seen most of the time when it comes to anything remotely resembling actual work.

Let’s just all agree that we have met hard-working people and we have met lazy people. And sometimes they happen to be rich and sometimes they happen to be poor. You aren’t solving any problems with your conclusion.

Jim Justice is a billionaire coal baron. He had to ask someone how to pronounce Garrett County. While the legislature is in session he’s coaching HS basketball.I see sm business owners & essential workers putting in 60 hr work wks.If only being smart & hard working made you rich

I can imagine someone working twice as hard as me, but even that is a stretch of the imagination. Three times, impossible. For some to deserve 1000 times my pay is just stupidly preposterous.

Also, trickle down economics is not a theory at all! Show me a major economist’s plan about trickle down economics. Also IF it were a theory, why does the left bash it then use it themselves in the form of more tax dollars to the government and it will trickle down from there

Incoherent on so many levels. And this is not an argument that poor people are lazy.
