Actually that’s a good question; Hitler was democratically elected. So unfortunately yes, people are being elected all over the country whose basic goal is to shatter our democracy through voter suppression efforts etc.

We have a republic. We democratically elect our leaders. Unfortunately the Constitution is toilet paper right now. The judicial branch has no recourse if our leaders don't follow their findings.

Representative democracy is the worst form of democracy. The few will never be able to represent the many in a complex system. We need direct democracy, not this illusion of empowerment. We need to stop letting complete, and largely corrupt, strangers rule over us.
