There has been zero correlation between Public Opinion and Public Policy for decades; but a VERY STRONG correlation between ELITE demands and Public Policy. There is no democracy. scholar.princeton.edu/sites/…

Sounds like you think oligarchs are democratic. Every election, especially since 1963, has been a battle between authoritarians and oligarchs. Are you saying this choice is an exercise in democracy?

Liberal platitude. US has never been a democracy, it was always an Oligarchy, ruled with an ironfist by the elites. Playing politics as usual at this point, when the historical record is crystal clear, is downright evil.

How were you able to convince yourself we could vote our way out of authoritarianism? The two parties who control our electoral process are both very much in favor of authoritarianism.

*looks at the undemocratic bipartisan suppression of 3rd party & independent political opponents, & complete capture of our government by a wealthy elite* "Representative" "democracy" (it's neither) has clearly failed. What we need is real democracy, which is direct democracy.
