We live in a one party system. The Dems and pugs do whatever they can to divide and conquer. Stop believing the illusion and the lie.

in 2014 the GOP controlled the House and the Senate and not one Democrat advocated for abolishing the filibuster. why is it only a bad idea when the Democrats control both chambers?

That might be what it takes for a major realignment. Long term, it might be a disaster with fascistic rule for quite awhile, but could also be a + for progressives. The middle/center left and everything to the left of it might no longer get drown in the bathtub by its own family!
