The only way to compete successfully with China or any other country over the next 20 years is by making a massive and radical investment in the well-being and education of America’s children.

China 221 school days per year. Average class size is 30 or more students. A typical school day lasts from 7:30 to 17:00.- US- more like 180 days, 8:00-15:00

Competition IS the problem. We should cooperate with all nations for the betterment of humanity.

Quite unlikely knowing that more money is spent on "defense" and subsidizing a space race played by 2 billionaires!

While I agree that education is critical "COOPERATION" with China and the rest of humanity going forward is the key. We are all stuck on this "Pale Blue Dot" together. youtube.com/wupToqz1e2g

it's pretty obvious the only thing that keeps nations competitive is collective internal investment in its infrastructure and specialized labor. we don't do that in the US because we aren't a real nation, we are a vast field of free-range labor+demand for transnational corps

To say that we're in competition with China is a false narrative. The real battle is whether we will be a country of We the People or We the Corporation. China's just a corporate asset being leveraged as a strategic red herring...

Education has to abandon its promotion of passive obedience and blind patriotism and instead encourage critical thinking. Kids should be taught how to think, not what to think.
