No, she's wrong. We face the most dangerous enemies ever confronted by the democracies - far outpacing in weaponry and population of the 1930s Axis. Our military is only 11% of the budget & much of that goes to pensions and salaries. Social spending has created trillions of debt.

Yes we’re facing a rising tide of authoritarianism but it won’t be defeated militarily. And not true about the $ either. The war in Afghanistan was $2.3T and $2T went to defense contractors. Our defense establishment is not about defending democracy so much as profit for the MIC.
