In the richest country in the world, no one needs to live in poverty; no one needs to be homeless; no one needs to be uneducated; no one needs to be underfed; no one needs to be without healthcare, clean water or healthy food. Every one of those results from bad policy decisions.

Apparent position of Republicans: We can't afford all that. Subtext: The wealthy are different from you and me. If they exploit loopholes in the tax law, it's because they're so smart. If govt pursues its petty demands on their riches, they'll just take their bounty elsewhere.

What action should people take? Let me propose something simple that everyone can do. On November 8, 2022 vote by writing in a name and/or casting for a 3rd party. DO NOT vote for any candidate running as a Democrat or Republican. The most peaceful actionable thing we can do.

I agree. Politics is about the allocate of funds. It is a shame that the world’s only superpower forgets about some of its citizens and lets people struggle. Meanwhile foreign aid and the Pentagon have extraordinarily large budgets. Don’t underestimate bipartisan miserly misers.
