I just want everybody to be free to live their lives as normal, without discrimination, coercion, or segregation. How on earth is this 'controversial'?

Because it is a radical concept.

When the Dec of Ind declared "all men are created equal" & endowed by God w/ "inalienable rights to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness," that was a radical challenge to the aristocratic paradigm of the day. It was radical then and for the very same reason it's radical today

I get where you're coming from and you're correct on the first part. However, I only disagree because, while it may have been radical at the time when the Union was formed, Americans have lived under those exact ideals for 245 years. It actually shouldn't be radical today.

Ah, but it is! In many ways we've reverted to the same aristocratic paradigm we were fighting in 1776, but instead of British landed gentry today it's multi-national corporations.

She clearly has a good soul, I dont understand why she places so much faith in existing power structures. WashingtonDC is so obviously corrupted to its core, that it will never help the average person Any additional money/power used by DC is counter-productive to the stated goal

Interesting idea... You are saying this is a counter-swing of the pendulum back to feudalism. I'm not convinced that is the case, but it is an interesting idea. Personally, I see it as more likely that this is the seeds sown by the neo-Marxists of the last century bearing fruit.
