Good quote. You could replace the ‘gods’ part with basically any social cause- abortion, LGBTQ issues, etc. wish more people viewed differences with equal pragmatism.

Whoa Marianne chiming in. woo But still, religion has ruined us. We have no separation of church and state and it’s out of control. I wish all religions never existed personally. We’d be a better society without it as most Christians are the biggest hypocrites I know.

and why..because persecution was rife in Europe and many left to pursue their own faith..That first amendment allows you to pursue any god as long as you don't upset any one else's belief.
